Travelling to Klagenfurt

For travelling to Klagenfurt by train, see OEBB

Klagenfurt airport has direct flights from/to Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin (germanwings, not daily!) and Vienna (Austrian Airlines).

You may also consider arriving at one of the neighboring airports, preferable Ljubljana or Graz but also Triest, Venice Marco Polo, Treviso.

From Klagenfurt Airport to the University:

Klagenfurt airport is not very well connected by public transport. There is only one bus (number 42) leaving once an hour (always at xx:56, starting from 5:56 a.m. until 6:56 p.m.). Get off at Heiligengeistplatz and change to bus number 81 (direction University/Krottendorf), then you get off at Universität or at Universitaetsstrasse. The bus ticket costs 2,20 Euros and can be bought on the bus.
A taxi from the airport costs around 22 Euros.

From University to Hotel Weidenhof:

If you take bus number 81, the next stop after "Universitaetsstrasse" is "Süduferstraße GH Rösch". From that point you walk a few minutes to Hotel Weidenhof.

The distance of Hotel Weidenhof to the University is a walk about 15-20 minutes.
