Purposes of processing, categories of data, legal basis, duration of processing and transfer of data

 

Registration and implementation

For the purpose of registration for the conference, we process data according to the Registration Form (link: Registration). The processing of this data takes place on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO (contract performance / contract initiation). The personal data provided by you are necessary for the implementation and processing of the event (registration, communication, administration, documentation) and participation is not possible without them. The data will not be passed on to third parties outside the event organization. We store and process the data for the registration and execution of the Summer School and beyond as long as legal retention obligations require it, legal claims can be asserted against the university or a legitimate documentation interest on the part of the university exists.

 

Registration with account

You can create an account in the event tool we use. In doing so, we process your first name, last name, email address, user name and password on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a DSGVO. Registration for the Summer School requires the creation of an account. Account data will not be shared with third parties. You have the right to delete your account at any time.

So that the system can recognize that you are logged in, so-called session cookies are set. These are small text files that are stored on your terminal device with the help of the browser. They do not cause any damage. Some cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. They enable us to recognize your browser on your next visit. If you do not wish this, you can set up your browser so that it informs you about the setting of cookies and you only allow this in individual cases.

 

Picture and video recordings during the event

Photos will be taken during the event for documentation purposes. The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest of the University of Klagenfurt in effective press and public relations work to accompany the event and its documentation). The objective of the Summer School is promoted by the press and public relations work with regard to publicizing the event itself and conveying the message that participation is worthwhile. The photographs are not aimed at highlighting individuals and will be published in whole or in part in print media, on the internet (e.g., on the homepage) as well as on social media platforms (e.g.: Facebook) maintained by Klagenfurt University. Photos and videos will be deleted as soon as there is no longer a legitimate interest in presenting the respective to present the respective event. This is the case, for example, when this event no longer needs to be advertised because no follow-up event will be held.

 

Covering Letters

We ask that you upload the covering letter for the purpose of selecting a presentation during Summer School. If we select you, we will publish your name, organization, title and covering letter in the Overview on the event homepage. This processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR (consent).  The selection of a presentation requires consent for publication on the homepage. A direct transfer of the covering letter to third parties outside the publication does not take place. If we do not select you, the abstract will be deleted again.

You may revoke your consent at any time in writing (addressed to the office specified under data controller). Otherwise, it is valid without time limit. The revocation applies to all future publications, but not to those already made. We store and process the covering letters of the selected speakers of the Summer School furthermore as long as legal retention obligations require it, legal claims can be asserted against the university or a legitimate documentation interest on the part of the university exists.

 

 

Sending invitations to future summer schools

The sending of invitations to individuals from existing contact databases who have already participated in an Theory, Culture & Society Summer School 2023 is based on the legitimate interest of the university according to Art 6 para 1 lit f DSGVO.

You have the right to object to this processing at any time. From this point on, you will no longer receive invitations. Please contact: tcssummerschool@aau.at .
